Until March 2023, Timion was renting a building with many garages lined up in the industrial area of Jeffreys Bay. The individual garages were small and cramped, which made operating the large machines cumbersome, a safety hazard and limits efficiency. For many years, we have been dreaming of our own workshop that would meet our needs and allow for growth and also more space for training.

In 2018, thanks to fundraising from the Domino Run in Basel, we were able to buy a large piece of land (1 Ha). The land is located in Jeffreys Bay and included a large building in need of renovation.

In 2019, we were able to fence the compound with a security fence and build a bungalow for the caretaker family. We were also able to strengthen the existing building and put a new roof on it.

In 2020, we were able to start a vegetable garden in Timion village to contribute to food security. Because of the pandemic, we were also limited in our outreaches, which is why we were able to invest time in this new project. We also completed the second bungalow.

April 2022 - March 2023. After 3 years of negotiations with the local government, we finally received approval for construction for the new workshop. Erasmus and his construction team were doing the construction for us. The construction was finalized in March 2023.

In order to be able to run Timion Camps at Timion Village in the future, we need more accommodation. From July 2022 to August 2023, our Zivi carpenters from Switzerland were building our last two bungalows. The cost per bungalow is about ZAR 400'000 (CHF 23'650). 
Most of the work on the bungalows have been finalized, however there is still need to do the wooden cladding as well as some interior work. 

We still have to develop the outside area with a disability friendly playground and place to hangout during the Timion-camps.
