Staff and children at the day care center

Alena’s Love Daycare for Precious Children is run by Early Childhood Development (ECD) facilitators and support staff. Ground staff live locally and also have children with cerebral palsy. They are compassionate and have an understanding of other families’ specific needs and struggles. Each family has also attended a Caregiver Training Camp with Timion and continuously receive various amounts of support and input.

The daycare’s management and the therapy needs of children are overseen by support staff from Jeffrey’s Bay, with visits to the daycare being made twice a week.

Alena’s Love aims to accommodate 12-16 children. Families that live in Kwanobuhle get preference, and children are accepted based on a point system. The ages of children currently range between 3 to 15 years, with 18 years being the final year for enrollment. The service is not rendered free of charge, but Timion NPC subsidizes the school fees to make it possible for families to benefit from the facility.
