Timion Association in Switzerland

The Timion Association in Switzerland is a registered non-profit organisation set up to financially support the work carried out by Timion NPC (South Africa).  Although Timion NPC is autonomous, the Timion Association plays a consultative role. There is close cooperation between the two organisations, with a continuous flow of information and communication between the boards of directors in Switzerland and South Africa.  There are  checks in place to ensure that monies donated in Switzerland are used for intended purpose.

At present the Swiss Association has about 70 members. The Annual General Meeting, required by law, is the meeting of the general membership who elect the Board of Directors, approve the Association’s accounts, and review past and future actives. Membership is open to everyone. The Board currently consists of seven members.

The Timion Association has received certification by the Ehrenkodex (Code of Conduct) foundation. This independent seal of approval certifies the quality of work as well as the financial controls in place for donations entrusted to the Association.

Objective of the Association as stated in the Articles of Association:

The Association supports charitable aid projects in developing countries. The goal of the projects is to support less privileged disabled children and their families. To this end the children are given access to therapeutic aids, and educational opportunities are created for the caregivers to train them in the therapeutic development of their child. Through education and explanation the families of the children with disabilities are encouraged to see their children as valuable and fully-fledged family members.
